How Aromatherapy and Massage Work Together To Detox The Pelvic Area

Detoxification is a natural and gradual process. Every day, we continually eliminate toxins through the urinary, respiratory, circulatory, digestive, lymphatic and integumentary systems. We are designed to handle toxins, but our bodies can become overwhelmed with too many pollutants. Excess toxins in the body often lead to skin problems, hormonal imbalances, poor circulation, low immunity, bad breath, gas, mood swings, depression and other problems in the body. All of which could manifest as urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, late, light or heavy periods and vaginal discharge.

Massage and aromatherapy can be used together with dietary and herbal detoxification to complement the holistic, natural cleaning process. Aromatherapy massage is whereby the oil used in the massage is rich with essential oils. During the massage, the essential oils are absorbed into the body through the nose. Inhaling the essential oils through the nose is known to be advantageous in that it affects the limbic system the part of the brain that is known to influence the nervous system. During an aromatherapy massage, the essential oils are also absorbed through the skin.

The essential oils used in aromatherapy that help the body in detoxification are extracted from grapes, lemon and juniper. The essential oils enter the bloodstream through the skin pores or oxygen when it was inhaled. They are carried to all the parts of the body via the lymphatic and the circulatory systems. The essential oils are chemically complex with so many beneficial ingredients and these ingredients or contents have a direct impact on the body, mind and spirit.

Massage and aromatherapy combined give you a relaxed mind getting rid of stress and a relaxed body by getting rid of muscle tension and back pains. Pure essential oils should not be used directly during a massage. They are concentrated and should be diluted in carrier oil before being applied to the skin.

Detoxification is a natural and holistic process. It is continual in the body, but if you do not complement it, the intake of pollutants is much more than the body can handle or get rid of quickly. This is why there are essential oils used in aromatherapy and massage to help complement and maybe speed up the detoxification process.

Remember that not all essential oils should be used all the time. Some people might be allergic to the carrier oil and other essential oils should be avoided by different people. If you are noticing your body detoxing from the pelvic area, consider discussing what you observe with your primary health provider or OBGYN as they may be able to share other options that will help your body balance out.
