Many Symptoms of Menopause

If you’re here at this blog, chances are you’re mid-menopause or some symptoms are creeping up that have you wondering if you’re starting earlier than you thought you might.  Let’s share some of the most common symptoms and solutions for what to do when menopause comes early.

First and foremost, let’s revisit what menopause it. Menopause is the time when your menstrual periods stop permanently and you can no longer get pregnant. Some people call the time leading up to a woman’s last period menopause. This time actually is the transition to menopause, or perimenopause

Post-menopause, your body makes much less of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. These significantly lower estrogen levels can affect your health and cause symptoms such as hot flashes and other symptoms down below.

The Many Symptoms of Menopause

Irregular periods or bleeding

One of the most common inquiries we get about our menopause-friendly panties is how they are able to absorb the spotting and untimely cycles that take place between and leading up to menopause.  Typically, the year prior to actual menopause and the ceasing of menses can bring lots of random spotting or untimely bleeding. Your periods may come more often or less. They may last more days or fewer, and be lighter or heavier. Missing a few of periods does not always mean you are in perimenopause or the transition to menopause. For that reason, having underwear that has a built-in pantyliner is incredibly helpful and comfortable! No more wearing abrasive cotton pads or tampons for an irregular period. Aside from the bleeding abnormalities, there are also many other issues that can occur where Apele panties can help with protection and comfort.

Vaginal dryness

Vaginal problems, such as vaginal dryness, may start or get worse in the time around menopause. Low levels of the hormone estrogen may cause your vaginal tissue to get drier and thinner. One of the many solutions to this is to ask your OBGYN about lubricants, moisturizers and even prescription medication. While these are wonderful options to get your groove back, having undies that are able to absorb excess or a rush of vaginal wetness or discharge is helpful in staying dry as your body gets accustomed to your remedy.

Urinary problems

According to Women’s Health, many women develop bladder or urinary problems during menopause. Lower estrogen levels tend to weaken the urethra making it more difficult for women to hold their urine long enough to get to the bathroom. This is called urinary urge incontinence. Urine might also leak out when you sneeze, cough, or laugh. This is called urinary stress incontinence. Some women have disrupted sleep during menopause because of the need to urinate during sleep. Urinary problems after menopause are not a normal part of aging and can be treated. Still, many women find Apele panties help with urinary and bladder leakage because of the tech that keeps from leaks and embarrassing stains and odors.

Our interior layer is leak-resistant: it is constructed with a power mesh layer which sits against your skin and under it, is a leak resistant layer made of a thin sheath of polypropylene to prevent leaking.
